Welcome! I'm Mary, and I founded Powerful Mind to provide what I never had as a faculty member- cohesive coaching to help me get where I needed to go professionally and personally. I'm a Full Professor of Psychology and an experienced University administrator with first-hand experience driving to make tenure, get promoted, maintain a funded research program, excel as a teacher, AND start and maintain a healthy happy family. I've been on both sides of the tenure and promotion process, and have (and still do) struggled with simultaneously being a Professor, Partner, and Parent.

“What can working with you do for me?" Together we'll use a research-based approach to help you avoid the pitfalls of balancing your academic and family life. We'll establish concrete steps that fit with who you are and where you want to go academically and personally to make sure you succeed in the next 6, 12, 18 and 24 months and beyond in getting the papers and grants written, the PTO meetings and doctor's appointments attended, and the papers graded, and still take care of you, your partner, and your kids.
